Who Should attend

Along with all TAPMS members; those interested in aquatic plant management, restoration and management of water and wetland resources are invited to attend. Regardless of your role in public or private sectors, varying from aquatic weed management to water resource manager, the TAPMS conference will provide useful and the latest information from professionals in the industry.

All TDA certified aquatic pesticide applicators can receive up to 5 CEU credits.

Early Registration ($225.00) for the 2024 Annual Meeting is open now until October 1st.

Registration will then increase to regular prices ($250.00) beginning October 2 through November 12.

Sponsors must be registered by October 15, 2024 to guarantee recognition on printed meeting materials.

No service fee will be incurred for payments made by check.

TAPMS is seeking deserving college students enrolled in relevant academic programs in the state of Texas. 
The 2024 David Allen Bass Scholarship is a $1500.00 scholarship to be awarded during the TAPMS banquet on November 13, 2024 in New Braunfels, Texas; applicants are strongly encouraged to attend. Scholarships will be awarded based on academic excellence, professional and extracurricular activities, career goals, and contributions to aquatic plant science and management or contributions relevant to the TAPMS focus in the fields of biology and ecology. Applicants must be current students at the time of the scholarship award (November 2024) and be registered for the 2024 conference to apply for a scholarship; presentation is preferred but not required.

Scholarship applications must be received by October 15, 2024 and should be submitted via email to the Scholarship Committee at txapms@gmail.com.  Please prepare your application as a PDF or Microsoft Word document in the format outlined HERE

 The Texas Aquatic Plant Management Society is excited to announce the new Texas Arundo Alliance.

 

The Texas Arundo Alliances (TAA) aims to enhance collaboration and information sharing among professionals managing Arundo. Drawing inspiration from successful regional efforts, the group will create a community for government officials, nonprofit staff, herbicide applicators, and academics to exchange knowledge on effective Arundo control techniques. This initiative seeks to bridge communication gaps and promote successful management strategies across Texas.

Aquatic Plant Identification

This Plant ID Workshop will be led by Casey Williams and cover plant physiology and basic taxonomy of both native and non-native plants.

Abstract submission is now open through October 1, 2024! You are invited to submit an abstract for an oral presentation related to aquatic vegetation management and preservation of natural aquatic environments. Presentations often include topics on the control of invasive aquatic plants (hydrilla, HAB, water hyacinth etc.), conservation and propagation of native aquatic plant species. Because student presentations and participation offer a valuable contribution to support this mission, The Aquatic Ecosystem Restoration Foundation (AERF) is offering full reimbursement for travel costs associated with delivering conference presentations and attendance of the 2024 Texas Aquatic Plant Management Society Annual Conference in New Braunfels, Texas. Travel funding is offered on a reimbursement basis only for costs of airfare, lodging, and meals incurred during the conference, as outlined HERE.

Outstanding Student Presentation Awards will be given following the award criteria found HERE.

Abstract submission deadline is October 1, 2024, but early submissions are preferred.
